Qeeology 2.5

Bun + Bun, 2.5" Qee, Gouache & Ink on Vinyl

Mint Mouse, 2.5" Qee, Gouache & Ink on Vinyl

Here are my pieces for the Qeeology 2.5 Exhibit in Lincoln, NE!

"A custom DIY QEE exhibit featuring the 2.5″ Qee Platform. With more than 100 pieces expected to be displayed from over 70 artists from Lincoln and around the globe – this will be an event worth catching. From painted customs to outrageously sculpted pieces – Toy2R anticipates an amazing array of original artwork.

The event will be held at Lincoln’s premiere nightspot – MARZ martini bar – at 1140 O Street, Lincoln, Nebraska from 7:00-10:00 as part of the First Friday Art Walk on May 7th. This will be the first art walk exhibit for MARZ and one of the very first 2.5″ Custom Qee Events ever.

Toy2R will be announcing the lineup of artists very soon as well as additional surprises planned for the event. For more information check out Toy2R USA’s Facebook Fan Page or email them at info@toy2rusa.com.

Qeeology 2.5 (n.) – 1. A custom vinyl toy show featuring over 70 international artists. 2. An exhibit of over 100 original customized 2.5″ Qee Figures exploring the creativity and art dimensions of the imagination."

I might experiment more with creating an environment for my creations to be in. However, I seem to have some technical issues painting and sealing my Qee; the paint has a tendency to peal off the vinyl if it get's hit. Maybe I need to try a different paint or sealer. If you have any suggestions please comment!!!

If your in the area stop on by!

Finished Qee!

"Beastie Qee" Gouache & Ink on Vinyl, 2009

Here's my finished QEE for the "We Ain't Plastic" show in a couple weeks. The hardest part of this project was getting the darn thing apart and then back together again without scratching off the paint. Thanks for web forums though that helped me figure it out. I guess the newer designed Qee's are easier to come apart and together than the old style ones. (I had the old kind).

Now that I have it figured out though I wouldn't mind tackling another one....maybe the bunny template this time. (I had the pig, oink!)

Qee Paint Time!

Here's a progress shot of a Qee I'm working on for the "We Ain't Plastic" custom vinyl toy show coming up. The We Ain't Plastic Qee Exhibit being held in Lincoln, Nebraska on October 2nd. (6-11pm). Over 40 local artists are participating...I'm really looking forward to what everyone will turn out!!! Stay tuned for the finished piece.

(Hmmm looks like it's time to give my water dish a good scrubbing!)
