New Print at The People's Printshop

I have a new print based on the film, The Royal Tenenbaums by Wes Anderson.  This is one of my FAVORITE films that I discovered in college, and I've been a Anderson fan ever since. The painting is for Spoke Arts "Bad Dad's" exhibit opening on Halloween, and the fine folks at The People's Printshop wanted to feature the piece as both a limited edition print, and a smaller open edition print.

Kubrick Show at Spoke Art

This post is a little late, but the tribute show to the films of Stanley Kubrick at Spoke Art opened September 6th. One of my favorite films is The Shining, so I was happy to finally tackle a Shining themed painting. It is one of those movies that I discover something new every time I watch it, and has the perfect amount of creepiness.

Interview and Upcoming Print at The People's Printshop

The lovely folks over at The People's Printshop have interviewed me in anticipation of my "Go Team Zissou!" print release tomorrow. This piece was originally created for the Wes Anderson tribute show at Spoke Art a while back, and it's always been one of my favorites!

Bad Dads Show at Spoke Art

I just realized this morning that I never posted my artwork that I made for the annual Bad Dads show at Spoke Art. This show features films by the wonderful Wes Anderson and this year I wanted to create a piece based on his version of the Fantastic Mr. Fox. One aspect of his films is that I discover something new or appreciate a character in a different way every time I watch the movie.

Meow Brow, Lil Bub, and Spoke Art

Tomorrow is the two-show opening of Meow Brow - New Work by Casey Weldon, AND Lil' Bub Art Show featuring a variety of artists depicting the darling Lil' Bub, cat sensation. Casey's work is stunning and I've been seeing hints of his feline paintings online and they look beautiful. This is a double show by Spoke Art and Bub herself will be there (you have to get tickets to meet her, much care has been taken to ensure her safety).

I did two pieces for the Lil' Bub half of the show. I have two cats of my own and I think I could draw cats everyday to my hearts content.

Happy Festivus

I'm a pretty big Seinfeld fan so when I was asked to create a festivus inspired painting for Spoke Art I was super stoked. Every year Spoke Art does a Festivus piece to spread good cheer and wish everyone a happy holiday. So happy Festivus everyone!

Bad Dad's show at Spoke Art

Last weekend was the opening to Bad Dad's art tribute to the wonderful Wes Anderson films at Spoke Art. It's always hard for me to choose what film to depict for this show, because I love each of Anderson's films for different reasons. But one constant throughout the films (except for Bottle Rocket) is Bill Murray playing some eccentric character. So that is the basis for my piece.

This Thursday is the opening for the Summer Group Show in San Francisco! I am very excited to part of this show and here are a few details of my paintings in the exhibit. Organized by fellow artist and friend Patty Scarborough, this day will be filled with local art, parades, and classic 4th of July celebrations. I will have prints, original art and more! Spoke Art and Beyond Eden Art Fair

This weekend Spoke Art presents the touring exhibit Quentin vs. Coen Round Three at the Beyond Eden Art Fair in East Hollywood. The exhibit will be on display October 1st and 2nd.

I'm very excited to be part of this exhibit and for my contribution I choose Coen's rendition of True Grit. (Despite the fact that snakes really creep me out I just couldn't resist the rattlesnake curled up around the whiskey bottle.)
