Crafty Wonderland Colossial Spring Sale this May 9th

This Saturday, May 9th is the one-day event - Crafty Wonderland Colossal Spring Sale in Portland, Oregon! Crafty events have quickly become one of my favorite events of the year and I'll be there with a booth (#39) with lots of new prints, paintings, and other goodies in tow. The event features over 200 local makers selling everything from homemade cheese kits, jewelry, clothing, artwork, prints and more.

You can find me a booth # 39. As you can see here on the map that there's going to be cat adoption teams, a DIY area to make your own crafts and also a plant sale. So much awesome in one spot!

Crafty Wonderland Colossal Holiday Show in Portland

This weekend is the Crafty Wonderland Colossal Holiday show in Portland. Over 250 vendors will be there with their handmade items and I'm super happy to announce that I will have a booth there (211). I will be selling handpainted and lasercut ornaments, mini paintings, prints, postcards, and more!

The holiday show is in the Oregon Convention Center (Exhibit Hall D) and it is free to view.

A few animal adventurers all bundled up for the winter (and each one has their favorite holiday treat illustrated on the back. Plum cake, gingerbreads....what would your favorite adventure have a sweet tooth for? These get stringed up as ornaments and will be available this weekend at the holiday show.

Out and about - Vancouver/Portland

My parents roadtripped from Nebraska to visit us here in Vancouver, Washington and it was the perfect chance to go sight seeing in the area! We had a grand time and here are a few photos of places we visited.

The International Rose Test Garden in Portland was in full bloom and completely blew us away. The beautiful huge rose clusters in the most amazing colors. It was such a nice relaxing stroll in the garden and great to see people out and about just enjoying the flowers.

While we were in the area we had to go to the Portland Japanese Garden, another one of my favorite places to check out. Last time I had been there was in January, so it was great to see the garden so green with spring and summer colors.

I'd been wanting to check out the Multnomah Falls out east of the city, so we head on over there and had lunch at the Multnomah Falls Lodge. I had been distracted by the thought of food as we pulled in and didn't notice the falls were located right behind the lodge. I had to ask for directions at the museum and they gave me a funny look and told me to walk about 10 feet outside and I'd see it! So silly! Needless to say we saw the falls then and got a good look from up on the bridge.

Portland Japanese Gardens

Ever since I found out there was a Japanese Garden in Portland, Oregon, I have wanted to go and see. This weekend was the perfect opportunity and we drove up to see the sights. There is something about an incredibly well tended garden that always calls to me to just move on in and make a little home among the moss and trees. 

Here are a few photos we took of the gardens. It was quite late in the day and the sun was going down, but it was so calm and relaxing. It was nice to see people strolling around and enjoying the garden.

I liked all the different little side rock trails you could take. In the photo above it was fun to have a vantage point over the rock garden.

This is certainly a garden to see in every season. It would be gorgeous in full bloom and lovely in fall colors too. A few plants actually had buds already, and I wanted to tell them "too soon", but maybe it's not.
